Schwammerltage. Eine Ausstellung zur Vielfalt der heimischen Pilze

September 28–29, 2024

Botanical Garden, University of Vienna, AT

Exhibition

Autumn is mushroom season. However, culinary enjoyment often fails when it comes to identifying the mushrooms found. At an exhibition in the Botanical Garden of the University of Vienna, visitors can examine freshly collected mushrooms and have their own specimens identified by experts.

As part of the Mushroom Days 2024, the Austrian Mycological Society and the Botanical Garden Vienna are going on a mushroom hunt and presenting their finds in the garden's cold house. Up to 200 species will be shown fresh or as models. In addition, various exhibitors present an insight into their work – for example, MyPilz shows how regional soil fungi can be used as beneficial organisms in the field.

The way of life and use of these fascinating creatures is also described on 16 exhibition panels.
